The project aims to support and promote young talented musicians from Tajikistan and provide them with new professional opportunities, including economic ones. At the same time, the project creates a platform for free creative expression and contributes to the development of musical art and the creative industry as a whole. "Bob's Music Award" has been organized by Bactria Cultural Centre for five years. The project is named after Bob Leverington.

MISSION OF THE PROJECT

Bob Leverington was the head of the Department of International Development of Great Britain in Central Asia, and he was also an integral part of the international donor community. Unfortunately, Bob has passed away. During his work in Tajikistan, he became professionally acquainted with Tajik music and was a big supporter of young Tajik musicians. He wanted to help those who had no opportunity to realize their talent on their own. This project was created and developed in memory of Bob Leverington’s activities and his dedication to the cultural life of Tajikistan.
